Terms and Conditions / Assumption of Risk & Safe Sport
Participation in skating programs involves inherent risks. By registering, the participant (or parent/guardian) acknowledges and accepts these risks and agrees to comply with all rules and policies of the Winchester Skating Club, Skate Canada, and Skate Ontario, including the National Safe Sport Program and all Codes of Conduct.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the participant agrees that Winchester Skating Club, its directors, officers, coaches, volunteers, and representatives will not be held liable for injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation.

Medical Disclosure and Concussion Awareness
Participants (or parents/guardians) must disclose any medical conditions that could affect safe participation, including but not limited to concussions, seizures, allergies, or chronic illness.
In accordance with Rowan’s Law (Ontario), all applicable athletes and parents/guardians must confirm that they have reviewed the required concussion education materials and Skate Ontario’s Concussion Code of Conduct prior to participating on the ice. By registering, participants and parents/guardians acknowledge reading, reviewing, and accepting the Code of Conduct
Photography, Video, and Media Consent
By registering, you grant permission for the Winchester Skating Club to use photographs and/or video of the participant for club‑related promotional purposes, including the website, social media, and local media, unless written notice of withdrawal of consent is provided. Media use follows Skate Canada and Skate Ontario privacy and communication standards.
Please note that most, if not all, facilities in which the Winchester Skating Club skates are equipped with LiveBarn or similar video recording systems. These systems are used by arena operators and organizations for purposes including safety, security, incident review, accountability, and transparency.
As a result:
Video recordings may capture activity both on and off the ice, including common areas within the facility.
Recordings are typically retained for a maximum of thirty (30) days.
In circumstances where footage is required for safety, disciplinary, insurance, Safe Sport, legal, or investigative purposes, recordings may be saved and retained for an indefinite period.
By participating in Winchester Skating Club programs, members and parents/guardians acknowledge and consent to the use and retention of such video recordings by the facility operator and/or the Club where applicable.
