STARSkate 1&2

STARSkate 1–2 is designed for skaters who have completed CanSkate and are ready to begin developing figure skating-specific skills. This program introduces the foundations of the STARSkate pathway, including jumps, spins, skating skills, dance, and program performance. Skaters receive instruction in both group and individual settings while working toward the completion of STAR 1 and STAR 2 assessments.

Registration in STARSkate 1–2 is restricted to skaters who are under 21 years of age as of September 1 of the applicable skating season.

STARSkate 3+

STARSkate 3+ is designed for skaters who have successfully completed all of the following assessments:

• STAR 2 FreeSkate Elements
• STAR 2 FreeSkate Program
• STAR 2 Skills
• ALL STAR 2 Dance

Registration in STARSkate 3+ is restricted to skaters who are under 21 years of age as of September 1 of the applicable skating season and who have completed all required STAR 2 assessment prerequisites.

STARSkate 3+ provides a comprehensive training environment where skaters continue to develop jumps, spins, skating skills, dance, artistic performance, and competitive readiness through a combination of group instruction and individualized training. The program emphasizes technical excellence, personal goal setting, and long-term athlete development while supporting each skater's unique pathway within the sport.

Adult STARSkate

Adult STARSkate is designed for skaters who are 19 years of age or older as of September 1 of the applicable skating season. This program provides a welcoming and supportive environment for adults who wish to continue or begin their figure skating journey, regardless of previous skating experience or assessment level.

Adult skaters may pursue skating for recreation, fitness, skill development, Skate Canada assessments, or competition. Participants receive access to quality coaching and a structured training environment that supports individual goals and lifelong participation in skating.

Skaters who are 19 or 20 years of age as of September 1 of the applicable skating season and who have completed the STARSkate 3+ prerequisite assessments may register in either STARSkate 3+ or Adult STARSkate.

Age Determination

For all Winchester Skating Club programs, a skater's age for registration and eligibility purposes shall be determined based on their age as of September 1 of the applicable skating season.
